Renal cell carcinoma is a malignant tumor characterized by the loss VHL gene, which leads increased angiogenesis. The potential immuno-oncology anti-angiogenic drugs has significantly improved outcomes for patients with metastatic renal carcinoma. phase III CheckMate 9ER study compared efficacy safety nivolumab plus cabozantinib versus sunitinib first-line treatment clear advantages over terms progression-free survival, overall objective response rate generally similar across subgroups based on IMDC risk, PD-L1 expression, presence or absence bone metastases.
